Frequently asked questions

How does a bullet point summarizer work?

You paste or upload text (or a supported file). We send it to an AI model that reads the content and returns a shorter, structured summary—usually with headings and bullet lines you can edit in the rich text panel on the right.

Can I summarize a PDF into bullet points?

Yes. Upload a PDF and we extract the text first, show it in the source box, then you click Generate bullet points to turn it into a summary. Very complex PDFs (scanned images without OCR) may not extract well.

What file formats are supported by the summarizer?

You can upload .txt, .md, .csv, .pdf, or .docx (Microsoft Word). Plain text loads directly; PDFs and Word files are processed on the server to extract text before summarizing. Older .doc files are not supported—save as .docx in Word first.

Can I summarize content from Google Docs?

There’s no direct Google Docs link yet. Download or export as .txt, .pdf, or .docx, upload it here, or copy from Google Docs and paste into the source box.

Is the bullet point summarizer free to use?

Yes—you can use this tool without a paid plan. Fair-use limits may apply so the service stays fast for everyone; sign in for full access to this summarizer.

Can I summarize text into bullet points online?

Yes. Everything runs online in your browser: paste text or upload a file, generate, then edit and copy the result—no desktop app required.

What is the minimum text length required for summarization?

There’s no strict minimum. A few sentences usually work; very short snippets may not produce a meaningful summary. If you only have a line or two, the output may look similar to the input.

Can I customize the bullet point summary output?

Yes. After generation, the summary opens in a rich text editor so you can change headings, bold, lists, spacing, and wording—then copy as formatted HTML or plain text.

Can I convert a Word document into bullet points?

You can upload .docx directly. Legacy .doc files aren’t supported—use Save As → Word Document (.docx) in Word, or export as PDF / paste the text.

What is the maximum file size for uploads?

Each file upload is limited to 20 MB (we check this in your browser before sending, and the server enforces the same limit). After extraction, very long documents may be trimmed to roughly 45,000 characters of text sent to the AI—you’ll see a note if that happens.
