NotebookLM Quiz to Google Forms

NotebookLM builds a quiz from your sources — but it has no way to get it into Google Forms, so teachers retype it by hand. This Chrome extension exports it in one click: every question, every option, and the correct answer key. No copy-paste.

What it does

NotebookLM quizzes, straight into Google Forms

NotebookLM can generate a quiz from your class materials, but those quizzes are locked in the Studio panel — there's no native export to Google Forms. The usual fix is copying each question into a form by hand. This extension does it for you: open your quiz, click Google Form, and a graded form lands in your Google Drive — questions, options, and the correct answer key included.

How it works

Export a NotebookLM quiz to Google Forms in 5 steps

No JSON, no reformatting, no rebuilding questions. About ten seconds, start to finish.

1

Generate the quiz

In NotebookLM, create a Quiz in the Studio panel from your sources — notes, a PDF, or a slide deck.

2

Click Google Form

The extension adds a Google Form button to the quiz canvas. One click reads the exact quiz you're viewing.

3

Answers carry over

Questions, every option, and the correct answer are captured — and set as the Google Forms answer key.

4

Form is created

A matching Google Form is built in your Drive, named after the quiz, and opens in the editor.

5

Assign it

Share the link or assign it as a graded assessment in Google Classroom.

Why use it

Skip the copy-paste

Rebuilding a NotebookLM quiz in Google Forms by hand means retyping every question and option, then re-marking each correct answer — slow, and easy to get wrong.

  • NotebookLM has no native Google Forms export.
  • The correct answer key is set automatically, so forms self-grade.
  • Exact text — no typos, nothing dropped or reordered.
  • Scoped to the quiz you're viewing, even with several in one notebook.

Why this exporter is different

Correct answers included

The answer key carries over, so the Google Form grades responses automatically.

Handles multiple quizzes

Each export matches the canvas you're viewing — never the wrong quiz.

Ignores non-quizzes

Flashcards and audio overviews aren't quizzes — they're detected and skipped.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Open a quiz in NotebookLM's Studio → App panel and click the Google Form button on the quiz canvas. The extension reads the quiz you're viewing and creates a matching Google Form in your Drive — questions, options, and the correct answer key — then opens it in the editor.
No. NotebookLM has no built-in Google Forms export, so the usual workaround is copying each question into a form by hand. This extension adds true one-click export.
Yes. The correct answer for each question is set as the Google Forms answer key, so the form grades student responses automatically.
Absolutely — it's the main use case. Generate a quiz in NotebookLM from your class materials, export it to Google Forms in one click, and assign it as a graded assessment in Google Classroom.
Each export is scoped to the quiz canvas you're currently viewing, so you always get the right one — even with multiple quizzes in the same notebook.
The exporter is built for Quiz canvases. Flashcards and other Studio artifacts aren't quizzes, so the extension detects them and won't export them.
Forms are created in your own Google Drive after you connect Google Forms once — you keep full ownership. There's a free tier; paid plans raise the daily export limit.
