How it works

From PDF to a Google Form in 5 steps

Pick the method that fits you — upload on the site, use the Chrome extension, or generate it in ChatGPT. Each takes about five steps.

1 Recommended

Upload a readable PDF

Best for most people — no ChatGPT needed.

  1. Sign in and connect Google Forms.
  2. Upload the PDF on the create page.
  3. Specify whether to retain existing questions or create new ones from the material.
  4. Generate the questions and create the editable Google Form.
  5. Open the created Form and check its wording, response types, and any answer key before sharing.

Chrome extension

Work right inside your document or a Form.

  1. Open a new or existing Google Form in Chrome.
  2. Open the MyQuizGPT sidebar and upload your PDF.
  3. Choose the form type and describe how to use the PDF content.
  4. Generate or append the questions, then review the resulting Google Form before sharing.

ChatGPT + MyQuizGPT

The original flow — still works great.

  1. Open MyQuizGPT inside ChatGPT.
  2. Paste your PDF and ask for a quiz — e.g. Create a quiz from this PDF.
  3. Get your shareable quiz link.
  4. Connect Google Forms once.
  5. Sync the quiz to Google Forms.

Why MyQuizGPT

Check the text before importing a PDF worksheet

A text-based PDF is the simplest source. If the upload produces little readable text, try a version with a searchable text layer or paste the relevant content. Review equations, multi-column pages, diagrams, and table questions carefully; their visual layout does not automatically become an equivalent form field.

  • Google Forms has no native import for PDF files.
  • Copying questions one by one is slow and error-prone.
  • MyQuizGPT builds the form for you — upload, extension, or ChatGPT.

Example workflow

Example: turn a teacher's PDF worksheet into a Google Form

Already have a worksheet for your students? Import its existing questions rather than asking AI to write a new set. The sample below shows how to specify what to keep.

Source content

Grade 5 science worksheet: Chapter review
1. Explain the water cycle in two sentences.
2. Which stage turns liquid water into vapor?
A. Evaporation
B. Condensation
Correct answer for question 2: A

Instructions to give AI

Convert my existing PDF worksheet into a Google Form quiz without rewriting or adding questions. Use a paragraph response for question 1 and multiple choice for question 2. Keep the choices and use the provided answer key for question 2. Leave the written response for teacher review.

Compare the draft with the original. Check that each question has the right wording and response type, and verify the correct answers for a graded quiz.

Import checks and common questions

A Google Form is different from a fillable PDF

Choose a Google Form to collect responses online. A fillable PDF is a downloadable document that people complete separately.

What if content is missing?

Check the extracted text and paste missing prompts or choices before generating again. Do not assume diagrams or image-only questions were captured.

Does the PDF page layout transfer?

The output is a Google Form rebuilt from readable content, rather than an identical copy of the PDF pages.

Share and Collect Responses

Share your generated form with students or participants. Collect responses, track scores, and analyze results directly in Google Forms—all from content that started in a PDF.
